Deco Guitar

This deco guitar is a gift from my mother. Before leaving for Montreal, we spent some time in a restaurant where this guitar was part of the wall decoration. My mom liked the idea of offering me this beautiful object as a souvenir, and convinced the restaurant owner to part with it by giving him more tips than it is custom. The guitar reminds me of this specific moment I spent with my mother. It is also a symbol of leaving for Canada. It belongs to Montreal for me; I therefore do not feel the need to bring it anywhere else. When I left the country for more than a year, I stored it here in Montreal. In Mexico, it is a common habit to give and receive objects to/from people who are dear to you. I carry, for example, a necklace in my purse from just such a dear person.
